GWX Forum Introduction

Welcome to the GWX gameplay forum! First, let's make sure everything looks right.

This forum will appear and function as intended with the following conditions:

1. The default forum font is "Roboto". The forum will automatically load this sans-serif font for most everything, but if you'd like to use a serif alternative that everyone will be able to see, use "PT Serif". Example:[font face="PT Serif"]LORE![/font]
2. In order to get the Preview Editor to display the font correctly, you'll need to download it. Once it's downloaded, open the ZIP file and double-click the Roboto-Regular.ttf file, then install the font.
3. If you visit the site on a mobile device, ProBoards will display the Mobile version by default. While it is certainly usable, it lacks the customization and, more importantly, the plugins that the forum uses. At the bottom of the site will be a link that says "Desktop"; tap this to view the Desktop version, as if you were viewing it on your computer.
   
   Additional note: Certain forum-viewing apps, like Tapatalk, will have the same issue, but may not have a link to the Desktop version. It is not recommended to use these apps.

Next, some cool tips and tricks:

• There are NPCs on this forum that can take ownership of posts, appearing as real user accounts. By default, every faction gets 2: One for their Leader, and one for their Paragon. To change the author of one of your posts, click the button with a man's silhouette in the upper right, next to the Quote button. In the dropdown list, you can select which NPC to use. This can also be done while creating or editing a post.
• In the bottom-right corner of the forum is an expandable control bar, signified by a ◄ symbol. Click to open it; at the left end is a portrait icon, which you can use to select from several different forum backgrounds. Picture:
  
• The Shortcuts bar in the top right of each page will link you to important posts, threads, and other resources that you'll use often. Don't forget about it!
• The Shoutbox is to the left, but it's meant for quick conversation. Only a certain number of messages are shown in the Shoutbox at one time - roughly 20 - so for long-term discussions, create a thread (or use the Talk thread). To save space, you can hover over one of your messages to edit it.
• If you want to quote a specific section of a post instead of the whole thing, highlight the text and click the "Quick Quote" button that appears next to your cursor. The quote will be created in the Quick Reply box at the bottom.
• Common GWX terms can be substituted with images, like Wood: . Refer to the Icon Guide for details.
• Be sure to visit your Sanctuary in the Factions board to create and store your lore!
